RNLI Lifeboat Station Bangor

In 2004 John Hutcheson appointed a formed associate, Gerry Irvine, as a partner to form the Hutcheson Irvine Partnership.  Having previously both worked for some of the provinces leading architectural practices, and John having established Hutcheson Partnership 16 years before, the partners combine 40 years of experience with professional qualifications to now employ 8 staff.  Our staff combine the skills of Architects, Architectural Technicians, Students, and Administrators.  We use up to date architectural computer software to design, manage, and present our work to help ensure our designs meet our client expectations and the requirements of regulations.  We are fortunate our collective skills have enabled a reputation for working on a variety of projects, covering anything from small domestic extensions to multi million pound commercial projects.

We offer a full range of architectural services from feasibility, environmental appraisal, urban and landscape design, building design and construction, planning, contract administration, legal documentation, energy analysis, disability access, and 3d modelling.  We have designed projects in the North and South of Ireland, England, and Scotland, and on some occasions further afield in Tenerife and South America.

Hutcheson Irvine Partnership provide planning and expert witness consultant services for legal, building, and contract disputes.  John Hutcheson is an associate of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. With such an in depth experience in house, we have been extremely successful in many expert witness cases and planning appeals.  A thorough understanding of policy, construction, contracts, legislation, regulations and their interpretation was critical to this success.

Our extensive experience enables us to advise clients about development options from the outset, always in the context of statutory planning guidelines and development control restraints.  Our design approach is creative and imaginative, whilst remaining practical.  We keep the process transparent and our clients involved at all stages of the design process.

We believe beauty is more than skin deep and thus we offer exceptional, practical, energy efficient inspiring designs, rather than just flamboyant visuals.  One of our recent projects is one of the few buildings in Northern Ireland to have been awarded an ‘A’ energy rating.

Our designs seek to ensure our clients receive solutions that meet their aspirations and operational needs, on time, and within an agreed budget.  Balancing the issues of form, function, and cost with aesthetic qualities, we seek to produce buildings that are thought provoking and inspiring.  All our designs receive the personal attention of the partners.

We have developed an extremely loyal customer base with a number of clients retuning to use our services year after year.  We believe HIP Architects can bring extreme value to a project.  We have the vision, skills, facilities, and resources available to take the pain out of procurement and make every project a success.
